The United Church of Christ is a Protestant denomination that believes in a Still Speaking God. Calvary UCC is an Open & Affirming Congregation, which means that we offer welcome to all who seek Christ. No matter where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Our congregation honors the past, lives in the present, and works tirelessly to be a Church Where Christ is Lived. Regardless of your economic status, family situation, or sexual orientation, you can find a place in this family of God. We believe in the deity of Jesus, the love of God, and the ever transforming power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God – we take Scripture seriously, but not literally. And while our faith is over 2000 years old, our thinking is not. Come and join us on the journey – Calvary, a church for the 21st century.

We worship on Sundays at 8 & 10:30 (8 & 9:30 from Memorial Day to Labor Day). Sunday School (monthly lunch, education, and mission projects) and Adult Forum (Weekly at 9am) resumes on the Sunday after Labor Day with a welcome back breakfast. 8am worship is in the Chapel – (Go up the steps on Oley St). This service includes guitar led singing, weekly Holy Communion, and is about 45 minutes long. The 10:30 service is in the Sanctuary (enter at the corner of Oley St. and Centre Ave OR use the ramp on 4th St). This service is a bit longer and includes musical offerings from different choirs.
Who is welcome at Calvary? When we say everyone, we mean everyone. There are plenty of congregations who define themselves by who they hate – we think there should be a church that defines itself by who we love.
Calvary UCC is an Open & Affirming (ONA) congregation in the Covenant Association of the Pennsylvania SE Conference. What that means is that we welcome all people – divorced, remarried, young, old, male, female, transgender, gay, straight, lesbian, questioning, Anglo, African American, Latino … we hope you get the picture. We believe that everyone not only needs God, but we all need to be part of a loving, supportive, and caring community. We think that Calvary is that kind of place. Give us a try!
