Calvary United Church of Christ is an Open & Affirming Congregation Where Christ is Lived! No matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here, where God is Still Speaking!

For your convenience, Sunday Worship bulletins will be uploaded on our website by the end of the week. A PDF format of the bulletin will also be emailed to members.

Connecting with God, each other, and the world as a place where all are welcome. Calvary United Church of Christ - an Open & Affirming Congregation

Who is welcome at Calvary? When we say everyone, we mean everyone. There are plenty of congregations who define themselves by who they hate – we think there should be a church that defines itself by who we love.

Calvary UCC is an Open & Affirming (ONA) congregation in the Covenant Association of the Pennsylvania SE Conference.

What that means is that we welcome all people – divorced, remarried, young, old, male, female, transgender, gay, straight, lesbian, questioning, Anglo, African American, Latino … we hope you get the picture. We believe that everyone not only needs God, but we all need to be part of a loving, supportive, and caring community. We think that Calvary is that kind of place. Give us a try!

Mission

Calvary is a progressive Christian community serving the needs of Reading, Berks County, and beyond...

We are connected to local, regional, national, and worldwide outreach through the Covenant Association, the Pennsylvania SE Conference, and the National Church. We are also committed to feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and clothing those in need. Our Food (and more!) Pantry is available as an emergency source of food for 2 to 3 days, and we assist people regularly with overdue bills. We participate as a site for Family Promise, and we work with Safe Berks, Mary’s Home, the Reading Berks Conference of Churches, Opportunity House, Ready.Set.Read!, and the Reading School District, just to name a few.
